I attended Dining out for Life, which is an event throughout Kalamazoo restaurants that donates a portion of the proceeds to HIV/AIDS research. I went out with Moriam to mutual friends' birthday celebration and ate some really fantastic food. I had bread and artichoke/spinach dip, and some creamy lobster dip, chicken quesadillas, and spring rolls. All for under 10 dollars and I was so full! It was the first time I've paid for something other than groceries in months. Literally--months.
I also love having 2 showers in the house. Moriam and I mobilized and were out the door so quickly!
Now I'm trying to make up school this week. Last night I went to bed at 8pm and didn't wake up till 11am. Plus I've been so busy with volunteering and work and stuorgs that I haven't had time to sleep or prepare real meals, much less school. I drank some espresso--the first time in 6 weeks--and am putting together some outlines and study guides. Tomorrow I'm also hosting a reunion for my class tomorrow at my house!
Food for thought:
The middle of nowhere is at the center of
everything: in regards to trash islands in the ocean, Nauru, and coordination failures. (TAL)
