Halfway There

I took my first of two exams yesterday--it was for my Environmental and Coastal Planning unit.  I studied so much I was sick of the subject going into the exam.  Also, I couldn't find the room it was in (it wasn't listed online) so that got me a bit distressed.  Regardless--I sat down and knew pretty much everything which felt amazing.  I never have felt so gratified about an exam.  Looking back on the material now (as of 24 hours), I think I may become a planner.  Planning is sustainable development at its core, branching out to its facets of the environment, society, economics and government.  It's exactly what my major is--it's exactly how I designed it.

Speaking of my masterpiece (I can brag a bit about my IIM right?), writing the proposal paid off for my ICRP.  We're supposed to write a prospectus for it, basically a proposal about what we're researching, and my adviser absolutely loved it.  He said the layout and content of it was great.  He was super impressed and even used my prospectus to show other kzoo students.  So it's a green light on my ICRP!  I just have to call/interview the list of people my adviser gave me and start doing some research.  I probably won't get to it until after my exam.

My last exam is for Coral Reef Systems.  I have printouts of all the slides and detailed lecture notes for the exam so I just gotta get to it, which will be difficult because it's CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting). CHOGM is also a public holiday and the Queen comes into town!  She's here!! Everyone is giving her flowers and gifts and shaking her hand.  There's a lot of hype of whether or not it'll be her last trip to Australia, as well as if we should bow, curtsy or do a head nod to greet her.  I don't quite understand the obsession with royalty.

Otherwise, I have a list of things to do before I leave Perth (wow, I'm leaving Perth??): Race shopping carts from Coles, mini golf at KJ Village, visit Adventure land (amusement park), tree top walking and picnic in Kings Park, visit the Maritime Museum in Freo, attend markets and buy souvenirs!
